What-we-do

On 18 and 21 of June 2015, the “Young Biologists Association” NGO in cooperation with “Ecovillage” NGO organized Science from the first hand. “Lichenological Research” Young Scientists School.

The theoretical part of the school took place in Yerevan on 18 of June. In frames of school, following invited speakers had a lectures: Arsen Gasparyan (Young Biologists Association NGO, President) Topic: Lichens of Armenia, Dr. Thorsten Lumbsch (Integrative Research Center Science and Education Chicago,USA) Topic ։ What’s in a name? That which we call a species , Dr. Ana Rosa Burgaz ( Complutense University of Madrid ) Topic: “DNA-barcoding in the study of lichen diversity”, Andre Aptroot (ABL Herbarium, The Netherlands ) Topic: Lichens and Global Warming, Dr. Pardeep Divakar ( Complutense University of Madrid ) Topic: How many species are hidden under the Parmelia saxatilis morphology). The practical field work took place on Mount Aragats on 21 of June, 2015.  All participants got the certificates of participation.
