YBA Biodiversity Conservation and Research Group

About us

The problem of biodiversity conservation and sustainable use of natural resources is one of the main ecological problems. The study of ecosystems becomes actually due to increasing of anthropogenic impact (mining, illegal logging etc.) on the nature. Taking this fact into account we are considering important to identify biodiversity assets for Armenia and assess threatened species conservation status. YBA Biodiversity Conservation and Biodiversity Research Group are group of young scientists working for study and preservation of biological diversity in Armenia. We believe that our activities will contribute significantly to assessing of the rich biodiversity of Armenia and understanding ways of its conservation. We also seek to raise public awareness on environmental issues through the environmental education and media.

  • Design and implement biodiversity research, monitoring and conservation activities
  •  Provide scientific information for creation and development of environmental management in specially protected nature areas

The YBA is proud to be partner of United Nations Decade on Biodiversity 2011-2020
